Agios is building a diverse pipeline of novel drug candidates and has built a robust cancer metabolism platform uniquely capable of unraveling the metabolic networks of cancer cells. Agios' approaches are designed to identify which metabolic enzymes and pathways provide the most attractive intervention points for treating cancer. The R&D approach is also focused on discovering biomarkers and combination strategies that can optimize the use of metabolically targeted therapeutics paired with companion diagnostics.

Agios' profound understanding of cancer cell metabolism will accelerate the discovery of new drugs against target metabolic enzymes and will also enhance the company’s ability to conduct successful clinical trials through improved patient selection, biomarker identification and combination therapy selection.

To date, Agios has put in place a world-class scientific team, built a fully integrated cell metabolism platform, established the largest research laboratory dedicated to cancer metabolism, and created an emerging product development pipeline of novel cancer therapeutics.
